India vs England – India Won First Match in ICC Women’s World Cup 2017


Indian women’s Cricket team won the match by 35 runs, ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, India vs England. This is the Second match of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. Indian openers give good start while batting and when England comes to bat Indian bowler picked initial wickets and also at regular interval and did not allow England to come back.

India women’s team won the match by 35 runs. Now India will play against West Indies on 29th June 2017.

Before today India reaches to world cup finals only one time in 2005 against Australia and was runner-up for this year.

England won the toss and elected to field first.

Indian Innings:

Indian opener Punam Raut and Smriti Mandhana give blasting start to Indian inning with 144 runs opening partnership. Smriti Mandhana added 90 runs in just 72 balls with the help of 11 fours and two sixes. For second and third wicket 50+ runs partnership helped India to score 281 runs in 50 overs.

Mithali Raj made a new world record of scoring 7 consecutive half century.

England Innings:

England openers Tammy and Taylor struggle to face Indian bowler. Both got out under 50 runs, England lost three wickets at 67. Captain Knight and Wilson started building partnership and added 67 runs before captain got run out at 46.

Wilson hit a half-century 81 in 75 balls with nearly 100 strike rate.

From the Indian side, Shikha Pandey and Deepti Sharma took 2-3 wickets respectively.
